Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Shipping Line Officer to oversee the efficient operation of shipping activities. The ideal candidate will manage shipping schedules, coordinate with various stakeholders, and ensure compliance with regulations while optimizing logistics processes. This role requires strong organizational skills, industry knowledge, and excellent communication abilities.


Key Responsibilities:

Operations and Logistics:

·         Plan and manage shipping schedules, ensuring timely arrivals and departures of vessels.

·         Coordinate with port authorities, freight forwarders, and agents to facilitate seamless operations.

·         Oversee cargo loading and unloading processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with safety standards.

·         Monitor vessel operations to resolve issues related to delays, cargo discrepancies, or operational challenges.

·         Maintain documentation related to cargo, vessel operations, and regulatory compliance.

Customer Relations:

·         Communicate with clients to address shipping requirements, queries, and service updates.

·         Provide timely updates on cargo tracking, schedules, and any changes to ensure customer satisfaction.

·         Handle client complaints or operational challenges with professionalism and efficiency.

Regulatory Compliance:

·         Ensure all shipping activities adhere to international maritime regulations and company policies.

·         Prepare and verify documentation, such as bills of lading, manifests, and customs declarations.

·         Collaborate with customs and other regulatory agencies to resolve compliance issues.

Performance Monitoring and Reporting:

·         Track and analyze shipping line performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.

·         Prepare reports on operational efficiency, costs, and customer satisfaction for management review.

·         Suggest process enhancements to streamline logistics and reduce operational costs.

Team Collaboration:

·         Work closely with internal departments, including sales, logistics, and finance, to align shipping activities with organizational goals.

·         Liaise with ship crews and ground staff to ensure smooth execution of operations.


Qualifications:

·         Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Maritime Studies, Business Administration, or a related field.

·         Proven experience in shipping, logistics, or maritime operations.

·         Strong knowledge of shipping documentation, maritime regulations, and logistics processes.

·         Proficiency in shipping management software and tools (e.g., SAP, Freight view).

·         Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills.

·         Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

·         Ability to work under pressure and resolve operational challenges promptly.


Skills:

·         Knowledge of global shipping practices and trade routes.

·         Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

·         Proficiency in data analysis and reporting.

·         Familiarity with customs regulations and international trade laws.

·         Adaptability to changing schedules and priorities.
