Job Overview
The Purchasing Supervisor oversees the procurement process, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials, goods, and services required by the organization. This role involves managing vendor relationships, supervising the purchasing team, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procurement standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Procurement Oversight
· Supervise daily purchasing activities to ensure timely and efficient procurement of goods and services.
· Monitor market trends, supplier pricing, and availability to secure the best deals.
· Review and approve purchase orders and requisitions for accuracy and compliance.
- Supplier Management
· Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.
· Negotiate contracts and terms to secure favorable pricing and terms.
· Evaluate supplier performance regularly and address any issues or concerns.
- Team Supervision
· Lead, train, and mentor purchasing staff to ensure high performance and adherence to policies.
· Assign tasks and responsibilities, ensuring workload is managed effectively.
· Conduct performance evaluations and recommend professional development opportunities.
- Budget Management & Cost Control
· Monitor purchasing budgets and expenditures to ensure cost efficiency.
· Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvement.
· Ensure alignment of procurement activities with the organization's financial goals.
- Compliance & Documentation
· Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
· Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier agreements.
· Oversee the preparation of procurement reports for management review.

· Identify and implement improvements in procurement processes to enhance efficiency.
· Collaborate with other departments to address procurement needs and resolve issues.
· Stay updated on industry best practices and trends in supply chain management.
Qualifications & Skills
Education:
· Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience:
· Minimum 2 years of experience in procurement.
· Experience in managing supplier negotiations and contract management.
Technical Skills:
· Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems.
· Strong knowledge of procurement practices, inventory management, and vendor relations.
