Marangu route is arguably the most common Kilimanjaro ascent. This is a relatively easy 5 – 6 days trip Kilimanjaro climb. Marangu Route is also the oldest Route and most popular, at one time the route was drawing over 80% of trekkers on Kilimanjaro, and it also came to be known as Coca – Cola route’s where the final summit bid is undertaken via the Normal/Marangu Route.

Is the “Whiskey” route, the Machame route is the most popular route on the mountain. Compared with other Route like Marangu, the days on Machame are longer and the walks are steeper. The Machame route is considered a difficult route, and is better suited for more adventurous folks and those with some hiking or backpacking experience.

Mount Kilimanjaro Lemosho Route
The Lemosho route is a superb choice for your climb. It is our preferred route due to its ideal balance of low traffic, beautiful scenery and a high summit success rate. It approaches Mount Kilimanjaro from the west, starting with a long drive to Londorossi Gate. The first two days are spent trekking through the rainforest to Shira Ridge.

Lemosho route crosses the entirety of the plain from the west to east in a pleasant, relatively flat hike, unlike Machame route which simply intersects the Shira Plateau. An added bonus of taking this scenic route is that, you will encounter low traffic until the route joins the popular Machame route. Afterwards, Lemosho follows the same route through Lava Tower, Barranco and Barafu, known as the southern circuit. Descent is made via the Mweka route.
