Tanzania offers more to the discerning African safari enthusiast than any other country in Africa. There is more land devoted to wildlife conservation, greater concessions of animals, phenomenal bird life, pristine wildness, and more than 120 tribes that are friendly and welcoming. Tanzania has more national parks than any African country, and
We work closely with our travel professional partners in assuring a safe, memorable and pleasurable experience for their clients and individuals.

Our offerings include basic camping, wildlife lodges, luxury lodges, and luxury tented camps. No matter what your budgetary needs might be, we have accommodations to suit. We are a small company, but big enough to take care of our clients.
All of our tour guides were born and raised in Tanzania and are trained naturalists, environmentalists, and unparalleled game spotters. Our social responsibility model covers as much as we can to include Kasulu Orphanage Center that Open Africa Safaris is in the process of building in western Tanzania in Kasulu town, and other vulnerable members of the community.
Why Us:
We are the local professional Tanzania Safari guides who have been working on the field for almost 40 years of combined experience. Since we are very passionate and experienced with Nature all of our Itineraries based on a right time at a right place to insure your African Safari dreams comes true. Don’t worry we know Tanzania we will take you whatever you ask us to go.
As you peruse your resources, looking for somebody who will take you on a trip of a lifetime, a valid question to ask is why should I choose one company over another? At the end of the day, it often boils down to price and quality of service, and commitment to local communities and the environment. But we would like to show you how we fulfill these objectives and more. We want you not only to be satisfied with your safari, but satisfied with yourself for choosing us to have the pleasure of providing you a superb trip!
Commitment:
We are committed to providing value to our corporate clients and individual customers and to those colleagues who rely on us for leadership or support. We are knowledgeable and passionate about what makes each of our Tanzania safaris become unique, and we are committed to finding innovative ways to fuel their growth. We create value for all segments of our Itineraris by faithfully focusing on service excellence and quality.

We support that sense of doing what’s right through a culture of open communications and a spirit of teamwork. We also value the role that diversity among our employees, suppliers and partners plays in our success.
Responsibility:
We take seriously our responsibilities as Safari outfitters, always aware of how our actions can benefit the community and sensitive to the needs of the environment. We make decisions at all times understanding our responsibility for enhancing profitability and serving the interests of our shareholders. As a service company whose success is rooted in the satisfaction and performance of our clients, we take responsibility for furthering the professional development of our employees at every level of Open Africa Safaris.
Like you, We Never Settle for Less than the Perfect Trip:
And we don't stop until you get it. Not every safari is right for everybody, and at the end of the day, a great trip depends on you and your personal interests and preferences. Forget the cookie-cutter safaris, it's all about a unique, meaningful, and worthwhile experience. You have the freedom to choose where you want to go and what you want to do, and we don't charge extra for arranging it for you. It's our pleasure.
Comprehensive Trip Assistance:
Let's face it, preparing for a trip half way around the world is a bit of an ordeal. All this preparation, swamped with information on what to do, what not to do... Relax. We have you covered. We will work with you to iron out all the details, and to make the process as smooth and carefree as possible for you to be completely ready for your trip. So whether it is finding the best international airfare or travel insurance, or even paperwork for visas, we're here with you doing the nitty gritty.
We Help Create Your African Safari Dream and Fulfill It Too:
We are the on-ground operators in Tanzania, and we do not sell the safaris to other companies. You work directly with us to develop your dream vacation, and we are the ones that fulfill that dream once you arrive. This results in not only a great adventure, but great value too. It's that simple.
Master over Devilish Details:
They say the devil is in the details, and if he's there we're going to find him! Logistically planning these trips requires a good deal of experience and know-how to make sure you are at the right place, at the right time (to see and do all the right things, of course). The pesky details in this process are key, and we have them all in check.
Keeping the Corners:
Many companies find it tempting to cut corners. Reducing the amount of food on safari or on the mountain, decreasing salaries of well-deserving crew (especially the hardest hit are the porters), limiting the game drives in the national parks to save on gas. Seems easy enough to cut the quality to maximize the profits. However, we are not members of this camp of corner-cutters. Safaris are not cheap, and you deserve every pennies' worth of quality. We may not be the cheapest (or the most expensive), but we will never sacrifice the quality of your trip over a few extra bucks.
Having Fun from Start to Finish:
Life is short, truly, and we're so glad you are planning on doing something so exciting as traveling to Tanzania. But we believe that the experience shouldn't start once you arrive in the country, but as soon as you start planning for your trip. We would like for you to enjoy working with us to develop your itinerary and exploring all exciting possibilities and all the unique places you can visit and discover. When it's all said and done, it's about the journey, not the destination.
Time & Dedication:
Being a small, family-owned company affords us some perks that other companies may not have. For one, this gives us the opportunity to give all guests the dedicated service they deserve, both before, during (and even after) their journey. We enjoy this because we get the chance to develop a relationship with people who visit our country, which means a lot to us. As a result, you benefit from a completely individualized, unique experience, while we gain new friends in the process of developing (and fulfilling) that experience.
More Bang, Less Buck:
We are sure for what is included in your trip, the personalized service, the comprehensive trip planning, and the unique experiences offered, that we believe we provide the highest value of safaris and Kilimanjaro climbs available. No matter your budget, we will work with you to develop a great experience. So go ahead, contact us, and let's get to it!
Jack of One Trade:
Tanzania: We know Tanzania, and we specialize in Tanzania. We know the nooks and crannies of the national parks with the best chances of seeing wildlife, and the optimal viewpoints for sights of a lifetime. Logistics of your trip are critical, and through our experience in developing itineraries it has almost become second nature. We know the people of Tanzania, the language, and the culture. We have a deep connection with the land and the people, and we hope you will come to enjoy and appreciate the country as much as we do.
We Send You to the Bush, Without Sending You to the Bush:
Tanzania has many national parks, and though each one has their own unique feel, the fact is not all of them are great at all times of the year. Many factors have to be taken into consideration. Sometimes you can go to a national park and struggle to find some good wildlife.
At your Beck and Call, Whenever, Wherever:
We like to be on call in case you have any urgent issues before your trip, or especially in the case of any emergencies during your trip. That's why we give you our personal phone numbers, both in the US and in Tanzania, and we encourage its use any time of day, no matter the issue. So business hours, mischances hours. We're here for you whenever, 24/7.
The Icing on the Cake:
Some say it's frivolous, but we think its the best part. Your luggage arrives late, and on your second day on Mount Kilimajaro you find that it appears. It's your birthday, and a cake to celebrate is a must. We always try to do those little things to make your trip just that much more memorable. Maybe for others that's extra, for us it's standard.
Trust,:
To trust somebody enough to travel half way across the world, and to trust somebody to guide you, takes work. We understand that we have the burden of proof; we must earn your trust. We take this to heart because we believe every traveler should do their research before they choose.Meet & Greet Services: If you are coming as a guest to our country, there is no way we will "leave you on your own" to find your way to Arusha or Moshi. It's a foreign country and you are coming as a guest. We find it appalling that some companies find this as 'extra'. All of our safaris and climbs are 100% escorted, meaning we will be there for you as soon as you arrive from the airport and until you depart.

"Wonderful safari experience!"
We recently completed a 5 day safari with Open Africa, and it was a truly memorable experience. As other reviewers have mentioned, Anton is a great guide who has a deep knowledge of the land and wildlife, and worked tirelessly to ensure we saw everything we wanted to see (big 5 checked off!). He is experienced, friendly, and just the person you want to lead you on safari. A gorgeous sunrise with giraffes in the foreground, having breakfast amidst the incredible migrating wildebeest herd, and watching lion cubs playing in the sun were just some of the highlights of our trip. We also had guide-in-training Sam along with us, and getting to know the 2 guides and hearing their stories were highlights in themselves. Above all of that, John is extremely responsive to emails and communicated closely with us from the moment we inquired about the safari, all the way to after the trip. While we experienced one or two logistics issues while on the trip, John was quick to help resolve them afterwards in a professional manner. (Make sure to double-confirm the flights and itinerary before hand!) I would recommend Open Africa to anyone who wishes to visit Tanzania for a magical experience.
