Shrike Safaris - Mwanza, Tanzania

Depart at 5:00am from Mwanza and start driving straight to the world famous Serengeti through the Western corridor.
Check in via Ndabaka entrance gate before 7:00am
- Enjoy game viewing around Grumet River
- Watch out for Nile crocodile waiting for thirsty wildebeests and have a glance at the school of hippo in the river

Day 1:
Mwanza and the Serengeti
Depart Mwanza at 8:00am after having your breakfast
Begin driving to the world famous Serengeti through the Western corridor
Check in via Ndabaka entrance gate
Game viewing around Grumet River
Picnic lunch
Enjoy viewing the hungry Nile crocodile
Walk across the hanging bridge
Have a glance at the schools of hippo
Dinner and overnight at a lodge or campsite in the heart of the Serengeti
Day 2:
Serengeti
Depart for an early morning game drive
Drive back to the lodge for breakfast
Spend the afternoon exploring more of the Serengeti
Have a hot lunch at the lodge or campsite
Enjoy more extraordinary game viewing in the afternoon and early evening hours
Return to the lodge or campsite for dinner and overnight

Day 3
Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater
Enjoy breakfast at the lodge or campsite and depart at 8:00am towards Ngorongoro Crater
Along the way, explore the endless plains of the Serengeti where the wildebeest migration originates
Have a brief stop at either Olduvai Gorge or Masai village (optional)
Enjoy a picnic lunch
Arrive at Ngorongoro and experience the world's largest unbroken caldera known as "Ngorongoro Crater"
View 100 species of birds that cannot be found elsewhere in the area, including the Serengeti
See some of the 30,000 animals that call the crater, which is 10 miles in diameter, home
View thousands of flamingos at Soda Lake, search for the rarely seen black rhino, and easily find large carnivores like lions, cheetah, and hyena
Dinner and overnight at the rim of the crater

Day 4:
Ngorongoro and Mwanza or Arusha
Enjoy an early morning breakfast at the lodge or campsite
Begin the drive back to Mwanza or on to Arusha, viewing game en route
Picnic lunch along the way
Drive to either Mwanza or Arusha through the Maasai steppe
Enjoy a relaxing evening dinner and walk around the city

Day 1:
Dar es Salaam to Selous Game Reserve
Fly Dar es Salaam to the Selous, landing at local Airstrip, Selous Lower (Mtemele), where our safari guide will welcome you and drive you to the lodge.
After lunch, head off on an evening game viewing. Surrounded by lush vegetation, these picturesque pools are just cool enough to swim in.
Dinner and overnight at the lodge 

Day 2:
Full Day Game Viewing
To make the most of all that the Selous has to offer, we do recommend a full day game drive. Leaving after breakfast, you can expect to drive through a variety of eco systems and are likely to see elephant, buffalo, giraffe, lion, and wild dog to name but a few.
A picnic lunch is set up under the shade of a tree with camp table and chairs. Perhaps stop at the small but significant grave stone of Frederick Courteney Selous, before returning to camp in time to enjoy pre dinner drinks around the fire.

Day 3:
Walking and Rufiji River Cruise
Depart on an early morning game drive, or enjoy a bird walk around camp with our resident naturalist.
In the afternoon, we would suggest heading out on a Rufiji River cruise. Motor up stream toward Stieglers Gorge and then slowly float back down the river in our custom-built boats. Cat and Tiger fish are prolific in the river.
If you’d like to try fishing, we will provide rods and a choice of sites and the kitchen is always delighted to cook your catch for you. Comfortable and with a cool box full of chilled drinks of your choice, an evening on the river is exceptional.

Day 4:
Fly Back to Dar es Salaam
Enjoy a last morning in Selous before your guide drives you to Mtemere Airstrip to meet your onward flight.
