Job Summary
Coffee Farm Manager to oversee the coffee farm. The ideal candidate will have expertise in coffee farming, crop management, and production efficiency, with a focus on high-yield output through sustainable practices. The Coffee Farm Manager will lead a team, work closely with out growers, and implement best practices to ensure optimal productivity
Farm PlanningDevelop and implement plans for the management of a coffee farm.Oversee land preparation, planting, and irrigation systems.Manage the acquisition of seedlings and ensure proper spacing, planting, and farm layout.Operational ManagementManage all aspects of coffee cultivation, from planting to harvesting.Implement best agronomic practices to optimize yield and quality.Coordinate the installation and maintenance of farm infrastructure such as irrigation systems and shade nets.Monitor soil health, moisture levels, and pest management.Production EfficiencyEnsure that the farm consistently produces high-quality coffee to meet market demand.Maintain production logs, track progress, and report on farm output.Use data-driven methods to improve production techniques and reduce costs.Team ManagementLead, mentor, and supervise farm labor teams.Oversee recruitment and training of farm staff, including casual laborers.Conduct performance reviews and foster a positive team environment.Financial & Resource ManagementPrepare and manage farm budgets, ensuring efficient use of resources.Analyze production costs and develop strategies to improve profitability.Oversee procurement of farm inputs, such as fertilizers, pesticides, and machinery.Sustainability & Best PracticesImplement sustainable farming practices to maintain soil health and reduce environmental impact.Ensure compliance with industry standards and pursue relevant sustainability certifications.Promote eco-friendly initiatives, including water conservation and the use of organic fertilizers.Outgrower & Stakeholder CollaborationCollaborate with local outgrowers to provide training and support for sustainable coffee farming practices.Engage with local communities and agricultural experts to stay informed on the latest advancements in coffee production.Risk Management & ComplianceDevelop contingency plans for challenges such as drought, pests, or labor shortages.Ensure compliance with local labor and environmental regulations.Reporting & CommunicationReport on farm productivity, crop health, and financial performance to senior management.Work closely with the management and other departments to ensure alignment with company goals
Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, agronomy, or related fields.5-10 years of experience in coffee plantation managementStrong leadership and project management abilities.Expertise in coffee farming techniques and agronomic practices.Knowledge of sustainable agriculture and eco-friendly farming methods.Experience in financial planning, budget management, and resource allocationComputer literateExcellent organizational skillsAttention to detailStrong leadership and communication skills
