Kilombero Valley Teak - Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania

Kilombero Valley Teak (KVTC) is revolutionizing forest management in Africa, providing a range of positive impacts for the remote Tanzanian area. The project involves cultivating plantation teak, protecting and managing more than 20,000 hectares of natural forests and wetlands, and conserving a variety of flora and fauna. To generate further long-term employment and development, KVTC has installed an integrated processing plant to produce timber and added-value products. With major investors such as the Africa Sustainable Forestry Fund and Finnish Development funds, KVTC is committed to sourcing high-quality teak sustainably and ethically from the center of Africa.
