Kibebe Farms Ltd - Iringa, Tanzania

Kibebe Farm was established in 1962 by David and Elizabeth Phillips on the edge of the Little Ruaha river just 10kms from Iringa city centre. The farm continues with the next generations of the Phillips family and has close links with the ASAS Dairies. It has become one of the leading dairy farms in Tanzania producing milk and purebred Ayrshire and Sussex bulls and heifers using organic principles and with a view to protecting and improving the environment. Kibebe is an integral part of the villages surrounding the farm by creating employment, providing practical training for young farmers in conjunction with livestock training agencies but also involvement in many aspects of the community such as supporting 9 primary and one secondary schools, water projects, infrastructure development and healthcare facilities.
